About this plant
Three different Nepenthes, one box, one shipping charge. The fastest way to find out which tropical pitcher plants suit your conditions before committing to a shelf full of them.
WHAT YOU GET
Three live rooted plants, one of each:
Nepenthes x Miranda - the vigorous one. Big speckled red and green pitchers, fast growth, and a climbing habit when given room. The showpiece of the three.
Nepenthes St. Gaya - the colorful one. A cultivated hybrid of N. khasiana x (N. ventricosa x N. maxima) known for yellow-green pitchers with red speckling and a striped rim.
Nepenthes x Ventrata - the forgiving one. A hybrid of N. ventricosa x N. alata and one of the standard beginner Nepenthes because it grows well across a broad range of household conditions.
An honest note: these are three distinct Nepenthes. St. Gaya and Ventrata are not the same hybrid. St. Gaya is N. khasiana x (N. ventricosa x N. maxima), Ventrata is N. ventricosa x N. alata, and Miranda is a different hybrid again.
CHOOSE YOUR SIZE
Starter 3-Pack - three young rooted plants in 2 to 3 inch pots.
Large 3-Pack - three further-developed plants in 3 to 4 inch pots, closer to hanging their first good pitchers.
WHY A SET
One shipment instead of three. Three plants under the same light and the same watering can, so when one sulks and another thrives you learn something about your conditions instead of guessing. And if you are buying for someone who likes strange plants, three is more interesting than one.
CARE - all three want the same basic setup
Light: bright indirect light, or a few hours of gentle direct sun. More light generally improves pitcher color when plants are acclimated gradually.
Water: distilled, rain, or reverse-osmosis water only. Minerals in hard water can build up and damage sensitive roots over time.
Medium: keep it lightly moist, never sitting in water. Use an airy Nepenthes mix such as sphagnum and perlite, not standard potting soil.
Feeding: optional. Do not use regular houseplant fertilizer in the root zone.
ABOUT LIVE PLANTS
Pitcher count, leaf size, and coloration vary between individual plants and with the season. You will receive plants representative of current stock, not the exact plants photographed.
SHIPPING AND ARRIVAL
Ships to the lower 48 United States only. Extreme heat or cold may delay shipping to protect the plants.
All three travel in one box, packed to protect the pitchers and root balls. Please open the package promptly and put the plants back into bright light.
Some travel stress is normal. Dried or dropped pitchers do not mean a plant is unhealthy. The leaves are what matter, and new pitchers form once they settle in.
If there is a serious issue when your plants arrive, please message me with clear photos of the plants and packaging so I can help.
Need fresh potting mix?
All three plants use the same airy Nepenthes-style substrate. Shop my long-fiber sphagnum + perlite Nepenthes Potting Mix.
