Carnivorous Plant Care Cards Printable
Six species. Clear care rules. No more 2am plant panic.
Product details
Stop googling "why is my Venus flytrap black" at 2am.
I grow and ship carnivorous plants for a living. These are the care rules I actually follow in my own greenhouse, on eight printable cards you'll keep next to the plant.
WHAT YOU GET (instant PDF download, US Letter, 4 pages):
• 6 species cards: Venus Flytrap, American Pitcher Plant (Sarracenia), Cape Sundew, Tropical Pitcher Plant (Nepenthes), Mexican Butterwort (Pinguicula), Australian Pitcher Plant (Cephalotus)
• Start Here card — the four fundamentals, and where species genuinely differ
• Pets, Kids & Panics card — what's actually an emergency (almost nothing)
• At-a-Glance Master Chart — every species on one page, cabinet-door ready
Each card covers light, water, humidity, feeding, winter, and the mistake that actually kills that species.
WHY THIS ONE IS DIFFERENT
Most carnivorous plant advice online is a decade out of date. "Never fertilize." "Never touch the traps." "Every flytrap needs exactly this dormancy." Those get repeated everywhere and several are wrong, or far too absolute.
What actually kills these plants: mineral-heavy water, ordinary or fertilized potting soil, not enough light, and using the wrong watering or winter routine for that particular species. These cards say so plainly — and they tell you where the six species genuinely differ instead of pretending one rule covers all of them.
On fertilizer: carnivorous plants CAN benefit from the correct dilute, carnivorous-safe feed. It's ordinary plant fertilizer at normal strength, and fertilized potting soil, that damages them. The cards explain the difference rather than banning the subject.
Perfect alongside a plant gift, for classrooms, or for your own collection.
